With the increasing of API calls, IaaS、PaaS and SaaS will have no clear boundary and integration will be the future trend.

Trend I Constant Attention on Integration and Automation of Operation & Maintenance

DevOps: Integration of development and operation, CI/CD/CD links, supported by the unified operation and maintenance platforms, and mainly to address the following pain points: ① difficult to integrate due to too many code branches and poor version management ② difficult to deliver due to inconsistency of development and use environment ③ difficult to improve and put on line based on customer/user feedbacks ④ difficult to carry out A/B tests and application rollback. Of the open source tools, DevOps not only includes distributed version control systems, like Git, but also includes centralized configuration tools, such as Puppet, Chef, Saltstack and Ansible, as well as container tools such as Docker and related choreography tools, such as Kubernetes.

NoOps: The advanced or ideal state of development and operation integration, i.e. full automation of operation and maintenance almost requiring zero operation maintenance 

CI/CD/CD: Continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment, typical feature and links of DevOps
As both user base and data size are growing, it is norm to have large and super-large servers. and constant improvement of user experience requires continuous code delivery and product iteration. So, integration of operation and maintenance will be more popular and more automated, eventually developing towards zero operation maintenance, i.e. NoOps.

Trend II Hybrid Cloud as Mainstream

Public cloud does not make good use of the idle hardware resources due to low automatic configuration. Considering the regulatory risks in some sectors, many enterprises are concerned about the data security of the public cloud. Private cloud is less extendible (than public cloud) and is robust enough against attacks. Hybrid cloud has the strengths of both public and private cloud. Now Azure has launched a hybrid version, Azure Stack, and IBM Bluemix also offers local versions combining public and private cloud. Mainstream domestic suppliers of public cloud also have mature hybrid cloud solutions. In addition, there are a large number of OpenStack start-ups and ISV providing hybrid cloud solutions based on public cloud. 

Survey conducted by RightScale shows that 95% of the respondents are users of cloud services, of which 18% only use public cloud, 6% only use private cloud and 71% use hybrid cloud. The share of hybrid users is much higher than the 58% in the previous year. Affected by domestic policies and company nature, hybrid cloud will take up a higher share than the average level in the world and become the mainstream cloud architecture in China. 

Trend III: The Integration of Varied Technologies

The integration of different technologies will be increasingly universal. Many clients nowadays want to obtain various services on a single platform, services that usually beyond calculation, storage and Internet, such as big data, artificial intelligence, Internet of things and block chain. This requires the combination of technologies and corresponding factors of production. So far, big data and cloud computing platforms have the deepest cooperation in this field. Artificial intelligence (especially in-depth learning) is the main driver of cloud service’s development. and Internet of things and block chain, although have been explored by several service providers, have large room for development in the future.

Trend IV: Ecology-based Development

iResearch holds the opinion that different types of service providers choose different ecologies. The ecologies of cloud service can be divided into production-related ecologies and situational ecologies. Production-related ecologies refer to the cooperation and mutual benefit of different companies and which can be further divided into “pioneering effect” ecology and “common development” ecology. Situational ecology refers to the structural optimization of the elements related to the real situations that terminal users are faced with.  Therefore, in the future, cloud service will see ecology-based development.
