New vehicle e-commerce can be divided into B2C mode and B2B mode according to the type of their client
Currently the participants of new vehicle e-commerce is of a large number. According to the different types of clients they are serving, these participants can be further divided into B2C companies (offering services directly to consumers) and B2B companies (offering services to agents).
iResearch holds the opinion that taking the development of new vehicle e-commerce as well as the unique features of vehicle product e-commercialization, B2C mode of new vehicle e-commerce makes e-commerce platforms facilitate or partly participate in the trade while B2B mode make e-commerce platforms directly participate in the trade and offer value-added services to the agents.
In 2015 and 2016, new vehicle e-commerce financing was mainly in A round and A+ round, while in 2017 the financing was mainly in B+ round with top companies becoming the major beneficiary group.
Share of new vehicle e-commerce companies which operated business in B2C mode and got financing among new vehicle e-commerce companies declined year by year, while share of new vehicle e-commerce companies which operated business in B2C mode and got financing increased every year and reached 62.5% in H1 2017, indicating new vehicle e-commerce companies operated in B2B mode appealed to investors.
