In the first half of 2018, the number of monthly unique devices in the game service industry fluctuated and increased. After August, the game service industry faced the dilemma of suspended game publication number issuance and the impact of the gloomy capital market. The number of monthly unique devices has declined. But in general, the number of game service users in 2018 is larger than that in 2017.

However, the shooting games represented by Playerunknown's Battlegrounds has grown in this unfavorable environment and become one of the few segments that has increased year-on-year. It is worth noting that although the numbers of monthly unique devices of chess and board games and strategy games have decreased year-on-year, the user's total usage time has grown a lot, and the stickiness  of the games has increased significantly.

Female players’ preference for music games is very obvious. They are also interested in leisure games, education simulation games and parkour games. Generally speaking, female players prefer easy and leisure games, while male players are more keen on competitive games. Strategy games, sport games and chess and board games are the favorite games of male players.

Users under the age of 24 prefer game service apps the most. MOBA games, adventure games, and parkour games are popular among them. As to the love of games, the 31-35 year-old users are second only to young people under the age of 24. They prefer real-time strategy games, game information and role-playing apps. People over 36 years old have a lower preference for game service apps. Chess and board games are the favorite of users over 40 years old.
