Top 50 e-commerce mini-program market segmentations have steady development. Among them, online shopping segmentation accounts for roughly 80% and is expected to rise in the future, which indicates the online shopping is the mainstream business model of e-commerce mini-programs. Meanwhile, cross-border shopping, group buying and other vertical e-commerce segmentations get small proportions because these segmentations are dominated by such giants as Xiaohongshu and Meituan, leaving small room for late comers.
As of June 2019, Pinduoduo, JD, Meituan and Xiaohongshu has seized the top four places of e-commerce mini-programs by unique devices, which left the third place far behind.
Based on the social e-commerce model and its close integration with mini-programs, Pinduoduo took the first place from April to June in sequence. JD experienced high month-on-month growth of 79.1% through the successful 6.18 shopping festival. Fresh food e-commerce mini-programs always took 4--5 places in top 20 e-commerce mini-programs and have huge potential though they did not appear in leading places.
