According to Sept. 2012 China Network Service Website Data recently released by iResearch, both user base and viewing duration of video websites took the top during the month. Meanwhile, portals still had advantages in user base.
Online video ranked top with the user base over 440 million.
In September 2012, online video topped the list with 440.41 million viewers. Since May 2012 online video has surpassed search service and took the first place in network service websites by user base.
iResearch analyzed that since the beginning of 2012, quality dramas and programs on the video websites including Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan and Voice of China have greatly increased online video user base. Following the booming development period, online video still kept rapid growth. The rapid development of video websites led further development of online video.
User base of Etao.com and People.com.cn kept rising and topped 10 million.
In September 2012, 51buy.com, Gmw.cn, 12306.cn took the top three positions in accordance with QoQ user base growth rates, which were 54.3%, 37.4% and 36.7% respectively.
In the top 20 websites by growth rate QoQ of monthly UV, user base of Etao and People.com.cn were 196 million and 109 million with the fast growth rate of 13.2% and 21.5% separately.
